Histopathological studies on virulence of dipeptidyl aminopeptidase IV (DPPIV) of Porphyromonas gingivalis in a mouse abscess model: use of a DPPIV-deficient mutant.

چکیده
To elucidate the role of dipeptidyl aminopeptidase IV (DPPIV) in the virulence of Porphyromonas gingivalis, mice were infected with either a wild-type strain or a DPPIV-deficient mutant using an abscess model. Histopathological analysis of the resulting lesions indicated that DPPIV participates in virulence through the destruction of connective tissue and the less effective mobilization of inflammatory cells.

Enzymatic properties of dipeptidyl aminopeptidase IV produced by the periodontal pathogen Porphyromonas gingivalis and its participation in virulence.
Porphyromonas gingivalis is a major pathogen associated with adult periodontitis. We cloned and sequenced the gene (dpp) coding for dipeptidyl aminopeptidase IV (DPPIV) from P. gingivalis W83, based on the amino acid sequences of peptide fragments derived from purified DPPIV. An Escherichia coli strain overproducing P. gingivalis DPPIV was constructed. The enzymatic properties of recombinant DP...

Porphyromonas gingivalis is a pathogen associated with adult periodontitis. It produces dipeptidyl aminopeptidase IV (DPPIV), which may act as a virulence factor by contributing to the degradation of connective tissue. We investigated the molecular mechanism by which DPPIV contributes to the destruction of connective tissue. DPPIV itself did not show gelatinase or collagenase activity toward hu...

Porphyromonas gingivalis is an asaccharolytic and anaerobic bacterium that possesses a complex proteolytic system which is essential for its growth and evasion of host defense mechanisms. In this report, we show the purification and characterization of prolyl dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) produced by this organism. The enzyme was purified to homogeneity, and its enzymatic activity and biochem...
متن کاملProlonged survival and decreased invasive activity attributable to dipeptidyl peptidase IV overexpression in ovarian carcinoma.
Dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) is a multifunctional cell surface aminopeptidase with ubiquitous expression. Recent studies have suggested that DPPIV plays an important role in tumor progression in several human malignancies. In the present study, we investigated the correlation between DPPIV expression and progressive potential in ovarian carcinoma. We demonstrated that ovarian carcinoma cell ...
متن کاملDipeptidyl peptidase IV overexpression induces up-regulation of E-cadherin and tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinases, resulting in decreased invasive potential in ovarian carcinoma cells.
Dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV/CD26) is a multifunctional cell surface aminopeptidase that is widely expressed in different cell types. Our previous study demonstrated a possible link between DPPIV expression and decreased i.p. dissemination and loss of invasive potential of ovarian carcinoma. In this report, we examined the mechanisms of the anti-invasive ability of DPPIV in greater detail. Ex...
